Dundas Data Visualization Inc., (Dashboard Insight, together
with Dundas Visualization Inc. shall be referred

Dashboard Insight "), and the
DashboardInsight.com site
(the "
Site "); it does not apply to other
online or offline Dashboard Insight sites, products or
services. By accessing the Site, you are consenting to the
information collection and use practices described in
this
privacy statement.
Dashboard Insight, through its website, Dashboard
Insight.com, is committed to protecting your privacy and
giving you the most powerful and secure
online experience.
THIS PRIVACY POLICY IS AN AGREEMENT. BY
PROVIDING ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION TO DASHBOARD INSIGHT
YOU ARE CONSENTING TO THE TERMS OF THIS PRIVACY POLICY.
IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THE TERMS OF THIS PRIVACY POLICY,
PLEASE DO NOT PROVIDE ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION TO
DASHBOARD INSIGHT.
Collecting Your Personal Information
We collect only limited personal information and only to
the extent you want to provide it to us. For instance, if
you would like to create a new member account, we will
collect information such as your name and email address. In
addition, as an option, you can also provide a brief
personal description that will be attached to your member
profile and to any articles or editorials
you submit.
When you visit the Site, certain anonymous information
about your visit (being information which cannot identify
you) is automatically captured. This information includes
the name of the Internet service provider and the Internet
Protocol (IP) address through which you access the Internet;
the date and time you access the Site; the pages that you
access while at the Site and the Internet address of the Web
site from which you linked directly to our site. None of
this information is personally-identifiable. This anonymous
information
is used to help improve the Site, analyze trends, and
administer the Site.
Use of your Personal Information
We use or may use your personal information for the
following purposes:
- To register you for Dashboard Insight membership.
- To customize your experience on the Site.
- To send electronic e-mail newsletters, if requested
by you.
- To fill in certain information for you such as your
name and signature when posting to message boards.
- To display your biography at the end of articles
and tutorials submitted by you.
Dashboard Insight occasionally hires other companies to
provide limited services on our behalf, including packaging,
mailing and delivering prizes, answering customer questions
about products and services, sending postal mail, and
sending information about our products, special offers, and
other new services. We will only provide those companies the
personal information they need to deliver the service, and
they are prohibited from using that information
for any other purpose.
In addition, certain third parties ask Dashboard Insight
to circulate to our members, on the third party's behalf,
certain advertisements and newsletters in which such third
parties believe you may be interested. For this purpose,
Dashboard Insight will use your contact information. If you
do not wish to receive these materials, please just let us
know and we will remove you from this particular
distribution list. Please note that these third parties
never receive your personal information from us. They simply
provide to us the material they would like distributed to
Dashboard Insights'
members and we circulate such materials to our members.
Dashboard Insight may disclose personal information if
required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that
such action is necessary to (a) conform to the edicts of the
law or comply with legal process served to Dashboard
Insight, or the Site; (b) protect and defend the rights or
property of Dashboard Insight and our family of Web sites;
or (c) act in urgent circumstances to protect
the
personal safety of users of Dashboard Insight , our Web
sites, or the public.
Dashboard Insight may also disclose your information to:
(i) an affiliate of Dashboard Insight for storage,
processing and information management services provided by
such affiliate, or in the event of a corporate
reorganization where the personal information assets of
Dashboard Insight are to be transferred as part of such
corporate reorganization; or (ii) a potential purchaser of
the Dashboard Insight business as part of such third party's
due diligence into the Dashboard Insight business, or as
necessary to conclude the transaction. However, to the
extent Dashboard Insight transfers such personal information
to an affiliate or to a third party in the circumstances
provided above, such affiliate and third party shall be
bound by obligations of
confidentiality.
Personal Information Stored Outside of Canada
Personally identifiable information collected on this
site may be stored, processed and otherwise managed in the
United States or any other country in which Dashboard
Insight or its affiliates or agents maintain facilities. By
providing personal information to Dashboard Insight whether
through the Site or otherwise you consent to any such
transfer of information outside of your country. Please be
advised that this means, to the extent such personally
identifiable information is stored in a jurisdiction other
than Canada, your personal information will be handled (and
accessed) in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in
which they are being stored. While Dashboard Insight strives
to ensure (through contractual means and otherwise) that any
third party who stores, processes or manages the personal
information obtained by us does so in accordance with the
standards and principles set forth in our privacy policy,
ultimately the laws of the jurisdiction in which such
organizations operate govern and these law may be different
than Canada. This means that the personal information being
stored in such jurisdiction subject to the different
standards and laws specific to that
jurisdiction
relating to the protection of such personal information.
Email addresses
Email addresses collected as part of the sign-up process
are not made publicly available. Email addresses are used to
confirm your identity and to
communicate with you via email.
As noted above, third party companies wishing to send
offers to our members do so through us. They send us the
offer and we email it to you on their behalf. In order to
comply with anti-spam legislation such as CANSPAM (in the
United States) there may be cases where a third-party email
data house is used to advise us as to which addresses on our
list have specifically opted out of emails from a given
advertiser. In order for this to occur we send our list to
the data house, the advertiser sends their list to the data
house, and the data house then advises us of the results. At
no time do we see the third party company's list nor do they
see our list. The data house operates under
strict
privacy guidelines.
Control of your Personal Information
Except as otherwise described in this statement,
personal information you provide on this site will not be
shared outside of Dashboard Insight and its controlled
subsidiaries and affiliates without your permission. It will
only be
used for the purposes stated above or as otherwise
consented to you.
Access to your Personal Information
You can review and edit your member profile information
at the Site by logging on to the site with your logon email
and password, and then clicking on
the 'My Account' link.
Security of your Personal Information
While no security measure is foolproof, Dashboard
Insight takes protecting your personal information very
seriously. Data is stored in password-controlled servers
with limited access. We carefully protect your
data
from loss, misuse, unauthorized access or disclosure,
alteration or destruction.
Cookies
We use permanent cookies to store your viewing
preferences on the Site and to store your login information
so that once you have logged in you do not need to repeat
the login process. These cookies store a user name and an
encrypted password. We also use a session cookie which
expires soon after you leave the registration process and is
not placed on your hard drive, to store your
session information during your visit to the Site.
Other Web sites
This Site may contain links to other Web sites. Please
be aware that this Privacy Statement applies solely to the
information collected on the Site. We are not responsible
for the privacy practices or the content of other Web sites.
