Today we are showcasing an executive dashboard (and online dashboard designer demo) that deals with a fictional software company called Sonatica (selling audio tools). This executive dashboard shows a high-level view of the different functional groups surrounding the products, starting from a general overview to the marketing efforts, sales, finance and support departments. All of this will give executive decision makers a quick and accurate idea of what is going on within the organization.

The Sonatica dashboards are the first of many dashboards to be built using a new product delivered by Dundas Data Visualization called “Dundas Dashboard.” This is an enterprise-level, dashboard software solution that promises to greatly reduce the amount of time and effort needed to build stunning digital dashboards (while maintaining an exceptional amount of flexibility. You can learn more about Dundas Dashboard at http://www.dundas.com).
Behind the scenes, this dashboard pulls data from SQL Server as a data source and boasts a wide range of functionality. One feature that really stands out is the pervasive help overlay system that allows users to click on the help button at the top of the page in order to bring up a description of what is happening in each dashboard visualization. This will allow people who may not be familiar with these dashboards to see a verbose description of what they are seeing.
All of the other features that you would expect to see in a properly designed dashboard are there as well, including drill downs, filtering, a detailed hover over and much more. You can even use an intuitive navigation system at the top of the page to jump between dashboards to see the other functional areas of the business.
