About ACLED

Dr. Clionadh Raleigh and team members from the PRIO Centre for the Study of Civil War created the Armed Conflict Location and Event Data Project (ACLED) to collect information that helps researchers identify trends and patterns of armed conflicts. They use SpatialKey location intelligence software from Universal Mind to visualize and share the data with teams located throughout the world. SpatialKey imports and displays ACLED’s data into up-to-date, immediately accessible analytics and interactive maps that help academics, the World Bank, NGOs, aid agencies, and other constituents gain insights into the dynamics of civil war.
