LONDON and CAMBRIDGE, MA- - November 24, 2008 - InforSense Ltd., the leading provider of next generation business and scientific intelligence solutions, today announced it has signed a deal with NorDx, one of the leading independent clinical labs in the US northeast and a member of the MaineHealth system. The deal underpins InforSense's presence in Healthcare. Having established a customer base of leading organizations in Clinical Research, customers in Healthcare, such as NorDx, are driving the use of InforSense in analyzing operational data, enabling Decision Support teams to respond faster to the needs of their organizations.
The production InforSense system is fully implemented and in active use at NorDx. It was implemented in 3 weeks and is expanding rapidly as new use cases and applications are defined and implemented. InforSense is used at NorDx to: extract data from billing, laboratory results, patient and cost data sources; create and load data marts to enable analysis for quality measurements; assess pay for performance goals and payment of payer reimbursements. The system also automates the generation of clinical, reimbursement and billing reports for the 35,000 patients and over 200,000 plus tests performed each month. These applications built with InforSense save considerable time over the previous manual processes and also identify opportunities for revenue improvement.
"We can integrate Patient Data from our Laboratory Information System with Insurance Information from our billing system and automatically generate reports on a monthly basis," said Denis Rochette, Director IT, NorDx. "These reports are used by one of NorDx's strategic clients for their Patient Care System to improve the health and well being of patients." He also added, "The system is proving very effective and easy to use -- even our billing analyst is building her own workflows to answer ad-hoc questions from the Finance Director and Leadership Team."
"This is a rapidly growing market segment for InforSense and we are pleased to make such an immediate impact with NorDx," said Professor Yike Guo, CEO, InforSense Ltd. "We are building on our success in Translational Research in Healthcare to now cover operational and clinical analytics. The InforSense platform provides the type of agile data integration, predictive analytics and visualization environment that is essential to support complex and changing decision support in a healthcare environment."
NorDx was established in 1976 as the first licensed independent clinical laboratory in Maine. Since then, it has grown in scope and expertise through affiliations with Maine Medical Center (MMC), the Maine Medical Center Research Institute (MMCRI), and the Center for Lipid Research and Clinical Research Management. This consolidation of expertise has formed a single, comprehensive healthcare system, which consists of one of the largest, most sophisticated, state-of-the-art laboratories in the Northeast.
