American Express this week introduced YourBuzz, to allow small businesses to manage use of Facebook, Yelp, CitySearch, and Twitter.
Small businesses' top challenge is getting and retaining customers, said Robert Ciccone, vice president of business solutions management for American Express Open, the small-business finance unit of the company. Some 44 percent of companies are using social media to get customers, but they are confused, he said, because they don't have time to use it effectively and don't understand the benefits.
