Berlingske Media Goes To Press With Talend MDM

Wednesday, March 30, 2011

Berlingske Media has selected Talend MDM, an open source master data management solution, as part of its corporate wide program for Customer Centricity.

Talend MDM will resolve and master customer and product data across multiple systems in order to create a single version of truth for analysis and operational support.

Berlingske Media is one of Denmark’s largest media houses producing content for print, online, web-TV, radio and mobile phones. It is the parent company of 11 national and regional daily newspapers and more than 50 local newspapers - and its printing works service both the group and outside clients.

Torben Lundberg, CIO at Berlingske Media commented: “We recognised the importance of choosing the right MDM solution for our unique set of requirements. It is our expectation that Talend MDM will efficiently integrate all of our data, whilst helping us aggregate and organise our customer data.”

Talend MDM is a complete master data management solution that provides value throughout an entire MDM implementation from profiling and quality to integration, modelling, mastering and workflow. This approach allows organisations to quickly deploy a master data management foundation and enable an iterative approach to success.

Torben Lundberg continued, “We have set ourselves very ambitious goals with our customer centric programme, and with over two and a half million customers it is essential that our data management tool makes us able to share customer data across our entire business and secure data quality as well as cross analyse and segment easily and accurately through the huge amounts of data. It is also essential that we have the flexibility to grow the initiative from a small scale before involving all of our data, ensuring that our master hub is completely accurate.”

François Méro, VP of Global Sales, Talend commented: “There is no underestimating the scale of the task that Berlingske Media have set themselves but by selecting Talend MDM they will incur a variety of benefits. These include improved data quality, improved data for analytics, the ability to personalise their marketing campaigns, and improve their customer service.”
