GE has posted data visualizations on Germany’s Energy Landscape. All three visualizations - Historical Energy Mix, Energy Dependence, and Future Energy Mix - is being represented by a chart type which I’m having a hard time understanding. It appears to be a stacked area chart with high and low values but I’m unsure as to what the high and low values represent. The visualization should have started from zero to give the trends better context. What I do find useful is the ability to focus on one particular trend by clicking on it. This is where animation should be used to help the user transition to a different view of the data.
