GoodData Adds Michael Gear To Lead Multi-Channel Selling

GoodData today announced that Michael Gear has joined the company as its Vice President of Sales. Michael has worldwide responsibility for scaling out GoodData’s revenue engine through multiple channels — direct sales, indirect channels and the innovative Powered by GoodData program. GoodData’s unique multi-channel go-to-market approach is driven by the company’s Cloud BI Platform, which powers dashboards, analytics and data warehousing for billion-dollar brands, companies born in the cloud, and SaaS and data provider partners alike.

“We spent three years building an unfair technology advantage, and the market is ours for the taking,” said Roman Stanek, GoodData’s Founder and CEO. “Michael’s demonstrated success in analytics, cloud and SaaS is going to be a tremendous asset as we scale the company.”

Michael joins GoodData most recently from Webtrends, Inc., where as Vice President of Sales he was responsible for 70% of the company’s revenue overseeing North America’s direct, agency, federal, Microsoft, and field marketing efforts. In the previous 12 months, Webtrends had double digit, year over year growth with hundreds of net new logo partnerships secured. Prior to Webtrends, Michael was a principal member of the Akamai sales team. Michael collaborated heavily and fast to aide Akamai growth from $0-$250 million in annual revenue. Michael has also held a variety of other leadership positions at early stage endeavors such as Context Media (purchased by Oracle), Riverton Software and DNS Worldwide.
