Information Builders, an independent leader in business intelligence (BI) solutions, today announced the opening of its first subsidiary in Italy. As part of Information Builders' continued international growth strategy, the subsidiary will establish the company as one of the main players in the Italian BI market.
Information Builders has been active in Italy for more than 20 years, working with various local partners to help sell and support its technology. By opening the new office, the company is strengthening its position and setting the stage for further growth and expansion. Information Builders will boost relationships and enhance innovation with current clients, increase its presence in new industry sectors, develop a new range of consultancy and professional services, add to its existing network of partners, and extend geographical coverage on a nationwide scale.
José Mª García-Soto will oversee the subsidiary as general manager and vice president of Information Builders Italy and will work closely on expansion efforts with Mauro Grassi, business development manager for the subsidiary. Information Builders Italy has already signed some initial agreements with companies, such as Avrion, GDS, and Grupo Ferlini, and expects to add new customers throughout the year. The company is also working to develop a corporate agreement with Italian multinational Tagetik to undertake strategic joint products in the corporate performance management (CPM) area.
"Italy's BI market needs are similar to those found in other European countries, and I see great business opportunities for Information Builders here," said José Mª García-Soto "Companies want to make savings in infrastructure costs and are very receptive to introducing solutions, such as WebFOCUS and iWay Software, which are available on any platform, and are very competitive not only in terms of licence costs, but also in terms of cost of ownership when it comes to administration and management."
"The direct presence of Information Builders is yet another step forward in our strategy in the Italian market," said Mauro Grassi. "It has the two-fold objective of establishing a more direct relationship with existing clients and strengthening our leading position in the market. To do this, we have a solid structure and the most innovative technology, thanks to WebFOCUS and iWay Software data integration solutions, as well as a new range of very competitive services that meet market needs."
The company is also expanding by opening local offices all over the world, reaching even further through exclusive distributors in emerging markets, including the BRIC countries. It has bolstered its European presence, covering more than 40 countries, and is still growing fast in the APAC region. In Japan, an established market for Information Builders, the company gained a total of 58 new clients in 2010. It is also present in China, where it has grown significantly, gaining no less than 14 new clients during the second half of 2010.
"Information Builders sees enormous opportunities for growth, both in countries where it is already present and in emerging states, and it is ready to maximize the profitability of expansion efforts outside North America," added David Small, senior vice president of Information Builders' International Division.
The Italian subsidiary will be located at Via Conservatorio 22, Milan and online at informationbuilders.it.
