Kalido, the leading independent provider of data governance solutions, today announced that three of its customers are speaking about their program successes this week while at the co-located 2011 Master Data Management (MDM) Summit and Data Governance Conference in London.
Despite significant differences in the scope and nature of the disciplines, master data management and data governance continue to be discussed in the in the same breath as each other – often interchangeably. As a result, many companies struggle to understand how these two programs interrelate and where, how and when to begin for the greatest chance of success.
This week, Kalido customers will discuss how their organizations have tackled the challenges of both data governance and master data management and highlight the successes they’ve seen to date, as well as their visions for the future.
- Unilever: Steve Gray will highlight how Unilever currently delivers master data management across three geographic regions and how it is using global information standards as a means to corporate-wide data governance.
- Visa Europe: Paul Fulton’s presentation will discuss how a new BI data governance function was set up to support increased demand for business intelligence at Visa Europe, particularly focusing on how data quality is managed when data grows at a pace of 22 million records a day.
Kalido will be a silver sponsor at the event. More information on these customers and others will be available at Kalido’s booth.
Derek Thompson, managing director, EMEA Sales, at Kalido, said:
- “We’ve repeatedly found that our European customers are among the most advanced in how they approach both master data management and data governance. In fact, all of these customers were members of our Data Governance Lighthouse program and provided invaluable feedback based on their experiences. For those companies just starting on their master data management and data governance journeys, hearing from mature organizations like Unilever and Visa is invaluable.”
