ParAccel, Inc., provider of the record-breaking ParAccel Analytic Database, a high-speed, low-effort, massively parallel (MPP) columnar database management system (DBMS) for data warehousing and analytics, today announced its "Cash for Clunkers" program to free companies from proprietary hardware and inadequate analytic performance. The "Cash for Clunkers" program offers Netezza NPS customers a timely and financially attractive opportunity to switch to the superior price-performance of the ParAccel Analytic Database™ (PADB) rather than migrating to Netezza's new version of proprietary hardware known as TwinFin™. Under the terms of the program, Netezza NPS customers who switch to the ParAccel Analytic Database and sign up for a three-year software subscription will get their first year free and their second and third years at $15,000 per terabyte.
"Companies that accept our offer will achieve significant performance improvements while freeing their data warehousing infrastructures from the high cost and inflexibility of proprietary hardware. Innovation in standard hardware rapidly outpaces that of proprietary systems, as we've seen time and time again," said Kim Stanick, VP Marketing, ParAccel. "Companies now have the option to achieve far superior economics by utilizing the ParAccel Analytic Database on standard hardware. Our 'Cash for Clunkers' program is aimed at making this transition as simple and cost effective as possible."
