PivotLink, the leading provider of business intelligence (BI) solutions delivered via Software as a Service (SaaS), today announced that Bruce Armstrong has joined the company as President and Chief Executive Officer and has been named to PivotLink's Board of Directors.
Armstrong brings over 25 years of experience in analytic applications and data warehousing. Most recently, he was Chairman and CEO of Kickfire, a pioneer in next-generation data warehouse appliances that was acquired by Teradata in 2010. Armstrong previously served as President and CEO of publicly-traded KNOVA Software, a leader in search and analytic applications. He also pioneered analytic applications for the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software category as Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Broadbase Software and served as Vice President and General Manager of the $700M enterprise database management business for Sybase. Bruce began his career at Teradata Corporation, where after the company's Initial Public Offering and acquisition by AT&T/NCR, he was tapped to run the combined $500M large systems division.
"Bruce is an experienced business leader with a proven track record for accelerating the growth trajectory of companies with disruptive analytic technologies," said Gordon Ritter, a Founder and General Partner, Emergence Capital Partners and PivotLink Board Member. "He's a galvanizing force and we're excited to benefit from his deep experience as we transform the business analytics market."
Armstrong added, "PivotLink is the clear SaaS BI market leader with tremendous momentum in verticals such as retail and consumer packaged goods. It's a company with all the right ingredients to make it big -- BI solutions that customers love, committed investors, and a seasoned and passionate team. I'm looking forward to working with the PivotLink team."
