Fast flu: real-time influenza data
Sometimes, it can be hard for health agencies to see national patterns in flu viruses, let alone international ones. Google Flu Trends is an attempt to make that data available in real-time using flu-related search queries. Despite the fact that not everyone that searches flu online has the virus, Google has found a strong correlation between symptoms and searches. This video explains how they do it.
