The progression of marketing analytics

A recent article posted on mediapost.com called “IBM Working On Analytics Suite For Advertisers”, discusses IBM’s work on developing a set of solutions targeted at marketing analytics.  In general, the statistical analysis that provides that backbone to advanced analytics and BI represents itself within financial and sales oriented analysis.  As BI has matured, the ability to incorporate algorithms into business processes to gain additional insight has led to targeted applications for sales, financial performance management, key performance metrics, and the like.
